From Alberta to South Carolina: How Suleman and George Began Their U.S. Nursing Journey Together with Scanscope

At Scanscope, we don’t just place healthcare professionals — we walk alongside them as they start new lives, in new countries, doing the work they love. And sometimes, the journey brings people together in ways none of us could have imagined.

This is the story of Suleman and George — two Canadian Registered Nurses who had never met in Alberta, but who are now colleagues, housemates, and friends, working side-by-side at Ashley Rivers Healthcare in South Carolina.

Two Nurses, One Opportunity

Suleman and George each reached out to Scanscope looking for a new opportunity — one that would allow them to grow professionally, explore life in the U.S., and join a supportive work environment.

Though their paths never crossed back in Alberta, Scanscope was working behind the scenes to place them both at the same South Carolina facility. They were each selected for roles at Ashley Rivers Healthcare, a facility known for its excellent team culture and welcoming environment.

When they arrived, they not only found great jobs — they found each other.

Support Every Step of the Way

Making an international move to the U.S. involves a lot more than accepting an offer — and that’s where the Scanscope team comes in.

We supported both Suleman and George with:

  • Visa Screen Certification – Ensuring their credentials and English proficiency were officially recognized for U.S. employment.

  • Board of Nursing Endorsement – Navigating the paperwork and state-specific processes to secure their South Carolina RN licenses.

  • Pastoral & Relocation Support – From answering questions about local life to offering housing advice and emotional reassurance, our team was with them the whole way.

A New Life in the Palmetto State

Today, Suleman and George have settled into life in South Carolina — sharing accommodation just minutes from the facility and adjusting quickly to their new routines. They've formed a friendship that’s made the move easier, sharing everything from groceries to day-off adventures in their new community.

At Ashley Rivers Healthcare, they’ve become valued members of the team — bringing not only clinical skill but also warmth, professionalism, and a deep commitment to their patients.

Why Scanscope?

Their story is a reminder that the right support can make a life-changing difference. At Scanscope, we don’t just help you land a job — we help you build a future.

We’re proud to have helped Suleman and George take this bold step — and we’re excited to see all they’ll achieve in the years to come.
