What We Learned from Canadian Nurses – Reflections on Our Toronto RN Workshop
Last weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting a live Registered Nurse Workshop in the vibrant city of Toronto — and what a weekend it was! Meeting so many passionate and talented Canadian nurses in person was energizing and insightful. We walked away with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of what international nurses truly need when planning to work in the USA.
A Full House of Future U.S. RNs
The event, hosted at a central venue in Toronto, was designed to bring clarity to a journey that can often feel confusing and overwhelming — the process of becoming a registered nurse in the United States. Throughout the day, we dove into essential topics such as:
How to register with U.S. Boards of Nursing
Understanding CGFNS and the VisaScreen process
What to expect from U.S. licensure and immigration pathways
We broke down the complex steps into digestible information and spent plenty of time answering questions, demystifying jargon, and providing real-world examples of what the process actually looks like from start to finish.
What Canadian Nurses Told Us
The biggest value from this weekend wasn’t just in what we taught — it was in what we learned.
Here’s what stood out in our conversations:
Information overload is a real barrier. Many nurses shared that they want to start the process of moving to the U.S., but the sheer amount of (often conflicting) information online makes it hard to know where to begin.
They need a guide. One nurse summed it up perfectly: “We don’t want to feel like we’re doing this alone.” The desire for clear, step-by-step support and trusted advice came up again and again.
They want transparency. Nurses told us they love having access to detailed, upfront information about timelines, costs, and what to expect — without hidden surprises.
The personal touch matters. The most common feedback? “Thank you for coming to see us in person.” Nurses felt seen, valued, and reassured by our visit to Toronto. That connection matters — and we’ll keep showing up where nurses need us most.
Ready to Support U.S. Healthcare Facilities with Direct Hire RNs
This workshop confirmed what we’ve long believed: Canadian nurses are eager and qualified to work in the U.S., and with the right support, they’re ready to make the leap. Our team is now actively recruiting direct hire registered nurses for U.S. healthcare facilities, and we’re bringing the same hands-on, transparent approach we brought to Toronto.
To all the nurses who attended — thank you for welcoming us, sharing your stories, and inspiring our mission. We’re here to help you take the next step with clarity and confidence.
